BWPD Project #2

Part 1 of project 2 is this:

  2. According to Wikipedia, what is the definition of a "Social Networking Service?" is an online service, platform, or site that focuses on building and reflecting of social networks or social relations among people, who, for example, share interests and/or activities.
  3. What Actor played the role of Mark Zuckerberg in the film "The Social Network?" Also, what role did Justin Timberlake play in the same movie and what significant software program did his character actually develop?  Jesse Eisenberg played as Mark Zuckerberg in "The Social Network." Justin Timberlake played the character Sean Parker, he helped develop the program Napster.

  6. What is a Tweet?  It is a posting on Twitter.  (In other words it is a shared thoguht or idea from a twitter user that has been published.)
  7. In what city and state are the "Facebook" headquarters located? - Palo Alto, California.
  8. As of July of 2011, how many active users of Facebook were there? - 750 million.
  9. What is f8? - A developer conference held for facebook once a year.
  10. What is meant by "location meta-data?" Real Time and Place Cache Posting or Tweeting Indicators.
  11. Look up twitter on wikipedia. How many users used twitter so far in the year 2011? 200 million
  12. Approximately how many diffferent social networking websites are there on the Internet?  200.
  13. What is the difference between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0?  Web 1.0, or web, refers to the first stage of the World Wide Web linking webpages with hyperlinks and general browsing of the Internet and Web 2.0, is associated with web applications that facilitate participatory information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design, and collaboration on the World Wide Web. A Web 2.0 site allows users to interact and collaborate with each other in a social media dialogue as creators of user-generated content in a virtual community, in contrast to websites where users (consumers) are limited to the passive viewing of content that was created for them. Examples of Web 2.0 include social networking sites, blogs, wikis, video sharing sites, hosted services, web applications, mashups and folksonomies.  In summary, Web 1.0 are browsing websites, and Web 2.0 are interactive websites.

What is "Cloud Computing?" - is the delivery of computing as a service rather than a product, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices as a utility (like the electricity grid) over a network (typically the Internet).  Basically shared resources over the Internet.
